Do I need to make an appointment?
No appointment is required, just pop in during opening hours and we’ll look after you.
Where are you?
We are on Southchurch Road, No 125, just off the city center pedestrian area. In fact, we are a 1 minute 47 second walk (Yes, I walked it) from Metro Bank by the Victoria Shopping Centre.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes, plenty, this is one of the big reasons we chose this location. There is on street parking along Southchurch Road. There is a city centre carpark directly behind the shop and another about 90 seconds away.
When do I have to pay?
You pay for the alteration or repair when you bring in the clothes or items. But remember that we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
How do I pay?
We accept cash and card payments, excluding Amex and Diners club.
Do I need to have the clothes pinned?
You don’t need to pin them yourself. In fact we strongly recommend you don’t do it yourself.
We would prefer you to have your garment pinned by our experts in our spacious fitting rooms so we can ensure a great fit.
However, if you come in and tell us you want your trousers a certain length (e.g. 32 inches inside leg, or shorten by 2 inches etc) then we will accept this, but if the length is wrong then it falls outside of our guarantee.
You have 3 price bands, what’s that all about?
Our standard price band is for the high quality alteration only.
The premium and VIP price bands are if you want that little bit extra. We’re confident that you’ll be delighted whichever price level you pick.
What are your turnaround times like?
We aim to offer a quick turnaround time. It does vary as to how busy we are. We always look to work around your timeframe requirement. We’ll ask you when you need the garment by and ensure it is done within that time frame.
Do you offer an express service?
We do offer an express service for simple alterations and repairs at £5 per item where we guarantee a same day / next day service.
For more complex alterations which take longer the express charge is £10 per item.
This service is subject to availability.
How do I know when the alteration will be done and is ready?
We will advise you what day the alteration will be done and this information, along with full details of the alteration / repair to be done, will be on your receipt.
The job is carried out during the course of the day we allocate, and when the job has been done and is ready for collection we send a text to your phone.
What if something goes wrong with the alteration/ repair?
The first thing to say is that our team of Alterologists are experts at what they do and we aim to achieve a perfect fit, first time, every time.
If it is not quite right and has been pinned / fitted by us it falls under our guarantee. We’re not happy until you are. It is an alteration, and we always leave some “wiggle room” so we’ll be able to resolve the issue as a top priority.
This may happen on alterations like taking in and letting out of dresses or complicated alterations. Remember this is not an issue with quality of work, we build time into the time-frame that we may need to adjust it slightly after trying on.
We are also fully insured.
The really important thing to remember is that we’re nice people who are all about offering you a quality experience and service and will go out of our way to make sure you’re delighted.
Do you have a loyalty scheme?
We do. Two in fact:
Loyalty Card: You get a stamp for each visit (not item) where the spend is £7.50 or more. On the 10th visit you get £10 off your alteration as a thank you from us for your business.
Alterology VIP: You pay a one off, non-refundable, payment of £150 that turns you into an Alterology VIP and entitles you to a 12.5% discount off the alteration price for as long as the shop is open.
